How It Works

SunOne specializes in registering agricultural land and projects to generate carbon offsets.  The first step in the process is to determine eligibility, which can usually be accomplished after an initial review of the project. If your land or project is eligible for carbon offsets, our experienced team can help you:

  • Review your opportunity to determine how many offsets you can earn
  • Develop the plan and timeline for getting your project registered
  • Perform a carbon inventory analysis, and optimize the long term value of your project
  • Manage third party verification
  • Officially register your offsets
  • Negotiate and contract with a reputable buyer for the best possible price

The carbon project process is summarized below:

Determine Feasibility

We determine if your land/project is eligible, how many offsets you can earn, and estimate the initial and ongoing costs of participating in the market

Public Listing

After modeling your project, we manage the initial review and public listing by the registry

Carbon Inventory

We work within your land management constraints to maximize carbon offset potential, then perform field sampling and carbon inventory analysis on your project

Final Project Design

We document every aspect of the project including the baseline analysis, project design & implementation, carbon inventory methodology, and monitoring plan

Project Audit & Registration

We manage the detailed verification process by engaging a third party auditor through a competitive bid process, and then register your project

Carbon Transaction

We will help get you the best value for your offsets while fitting your needs, ranging from selling your offsets every year at the market rate to locking in a buyer for multiple years
